We use Project Management Institute (PMI) process groups to achieve specific project objectives. Five processes for the project lifecycle are:
- Initiation – Define new project and objective, identify stakeholders, and obtain authorization.
- Planning – Develop Project Management Plan to Plan the Work (Scope, Schedule, Cost Quality, Resource, Communications, Risk, Procurement and Stakeholder).
- Executing – Work the Plan to meet the project objective.
- Monitoring & Control – Track, review, and regulate the progress and performance of the project. Control changes to the plan.
- Closing– Finalize all activities and formally close the project.
